Renting your dwelling? Find the protection you need.

For anyone renting an apartment, condo, or house, renters insurance provides liability coverage and protection for your possessions from loss or destruction.   A common misconception for renters is they can turn in a claim on their landlord’s policy for stolen or destroyed property.

Besides providing protection against standard claims like fire or lightning, renters insurance provides coverage for theft, vandalism, and windstorms.  A renters policy also provides liability coverage and defense costs for bodily injury or property damage you cause to others.

Like homeowners insurance, renters insurance also provides additional living expenses if you are forced out of your dwelling for a covered claim.

Since renters policies don’t cover the dwelling like homeowners insurance, the premiums are much cheaper.  (You can also bundle them with auto insurance, allowing you to take advantage of policy discounts.)
